SR Roseland Lions & Lioness Lions Club Inc. Funds are needed to move the 4 modular units, connect them together, weatherize and set same on a foundation. When completed, it will be used to house a Library and Community Center for the people in the Roseland community. All will be welcome to use the facilities. This project has been on and off again for the past 20 plus years. Many reading this have volunteered countless hours to help through the years. Well, it's not a wish and a prayer anymore. it's a reality and with your help, the goal is to have the modular up and running before the end of the year. Can it be done? With your help it's safe to say "Yes". Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a Library and Programs in the Roseland Area funded and run by the SR City Park & Recreation Dept? If we succeed in completing the Modular units for use, the Roseland Library & Community Center at Hearn & Burbank will be a reality and not a dream anymore. In the planning stages and already announced to the public, the Salamander Festival was the kick off for the raising of funds to complete this project. The SALAMANDER FESTIVAL was held Sun. Aug. 24th. 2008 at the Southwest Community Park. Party Jumps was there with Fun and Games for the children, on going Entertainment from 11am to 6pm and Craft Booths for your shopping pleasure, also Food Booths to please your pallet. We had the crowning of the Salamander King, Vernal Pool Queen and their court. What more can a family ask for on a beautiful summer day in Santa Rosa. Did you join the Roseland Lions for a mouth watering Pancake Breakfast, from 7am to 11am, cost was only $6.00 p.p. and lets not forget the non-stop entertainment on stage from 11am to 6pm. Know too that 100% of the proceeds from the event will benefit this modular project. We didn't raise enough to complete phase 1 of the project. We are short about $20,000.00. Donations are welcome, make your tax deductible check out to Roseland Lions/Salamander Festival and mail it to Roseland Lions Club, PO Box 7398, Santa Rosa CA 95407 or bring or mail the check to any Redwood Credit union and it'll find it's way to the account set up for the modular project. If you have any questions or suggestions to help this project. Call Lion Pat 415-215-5599 or E-mail lionpats@gmail.com . |
